PS3 Update 2.43 Firmware: Playstation 3 Update 2.43

There has been a lot of buzz on the web about the PS3 Update 2.43. Some said that this PS3 Update is never going to happen. Today, PS3 just released their latest update, the Playstation 3 (PS3) Firmware Update 2.43.

Everyone who owns a PS3 in Japan is required to get this update but those outside of the region doesn’t. For people living in the United States or just anywhere outside Japan, you have the option not to go ahead with the PS3 Firmware Update 2.43.

Do the PS3 Update 2.43 (step-by-step)

1. Go to “System Update” under the XMB’s Settings icon
2. Start Installing

Did anyone outside Japan do this PS3 Update?

    I think you don’t need a link anymore. You can initiate the upgrade using your console.

    I updated to 2.43. Now UPnP doesn’t work anymore. How can I revert to 2.42???

    after much testing, I realized 2.43 works perfectly. It was TwonkyVision that needed to be updated to 4.4.9.

    I keep reading that 2.43 doesn’t do anything for users outside of Japan. However, I noticed that after I upgraded my US PS3 to 2.43 I can now resume playing AVI files from the point where I left off. It was annoying before always having to fast forward if I exited an AVI file and went back later to watch it. Anyone else notice this?

    2.43 is supposed to address issues with Socom:Confrontation. Please go to socom.com for cinfirmation.
